By downloading, installing, or accessing the Oxfai mobile application or visiting our website (https://oxfai-acadx2.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). Please read them carefully before using our platform.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately cease all usage of the application and delete it from your device. The English text on this page is the controlling version for App Store review.

1. Eligibility and Account Security

• Target audience: Oxfai is an academic tutor assistant for higher-education students. By creating an account, you represent that you are a student enrolled in a recognized educational institution, or otherwise legally able to use the service.
• Account credentials: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Firebase Authentication credentials. Activity under your account is deemed your responsibility.
• Abuse and integrity: We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach security, bypass device checks via emulators, or violate system integrity monitored through Firebase App Check.

2. Intellectual Property and “Backpack Vault” Rules

• User content ownership: You retain full ownership of course syllabi, notes, Word files, or PDF documents uploaded into your Backpack Vault.
• Automated text summarization (Guideline 5.2.4): The system extracts limited data and truncates source fragments to small abstracts (under 250 words) to feed localized flashcard engines. Oxfai does not distribute, republish, or copy whole textbook materials, and does not host publisher full text from federated libraries.
• Oxfai intellectual property: User-interface layouts, Oxford / gold brand styling, graphic assets, widgets, deep-link structures, and system code remain the exclusive property of Oxfai Corp / Hamdi Sadaoui.

3. Fair Use of AI & Server Protection (Anti-Spam Shield)

To keep Render-hosted backends and Groq / Claude LLM routing stable, you agree that:

• No automated abuse: You may not use scripts, scrapers, bots, or command-line tools to interact with the AI Tutor or any API endpoint.
• Anti-spam lockout: Features such as “Help me understand this topic” send on-demand requests. Flooding or spamming those triggers may result in a client-side lockout or a server-side restriction.
• Academic Honor Shield: Oxfai is built for active recall and comprehension. The Honor Shield is an advisory integrity tool, not an official anti-plagiarism certification. You remain solely responsible for complying with your university’s academic-integrity policies. We are not responsible for disciplinary actions arising from misuse of generative AI outputs.

4. Financial Infrastructure & Virtual Economy (Oxfai Coins)

Oxfai uses a dual Freemium and pack-based model to cover API overhead:

• Freemium & rewarded access: You may unlock limited time frames (for example extra minutes in Ivory Study Rooms / the study atrium) by watching rewarded ads. Labelled banner ads, when shown, are limited to Grades (ECTS), Backpack, and Focus timers. The AI Tutor is ad-free for all tiers.
• Oxfai Coins packs: Premium actions and deep-dive roadmaps may consume virtual Oxfai Coins (for example a Semester Pack of 150 Coins). Packs are typically offered in sizes such as 50, 150, or 300 coins.
• Subscriptions: Prestige and Prestige+ are auto-renewable subscriptions billed exclusively by Apple through StoreKit 2. You can manage or cancel auto-renewal in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Services begin after Apple validates the purchase. Annual plans are billed in full up front.
• Native Apple billing (StoreKit 2): All coin purchases, subscriptions, and related micro-billing are handled by Apple. Oxfai Corp never accesses, stores, or processes your credit-card numbers or bank credentials. Sales are governed by Apple’s App Store refund rules for your region. Consumables are generally non-refundable once delivered.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability

• Educational support only: Oxfai is an AI learning accelerator. Although routing engines are configured for academic precision, large language models can hallucinate or display outdated data. We do not guarantee the absolute accuracy of generated solutions.
• No grade guarantees: Oxfai Corp / Hamdi Sadaoui cannot be held liable for academic failure, poor examination grades, or missed deadlines.
• Service availability: The platform is provided “as is”. We are not responsible for temporary downtime during Render deployments or regional network timeouts. Aggregate liability, where permitted by law, is limited to the most recent subscription payment you made through Apple.

6. Termination of Service

We may terminate or restrict access immediately if we detect a material breach of these Terms, unauthorized API tampering, or fraudulent activity.

7. Federated libraries

Registered students may search academic metadata across channels such as Springer Nature, JSTOR, IEEE Xplore, ScienceDirect, Semantic Scholar, arXiv, and PubMed, subject to plan quotas. Results are metadata and truncated abstracts only. Full-text access is governed by the publisher or your institution.
